kyle

Kyle J. Hegna, 56, died unexpectedly on January 18, 2020. Kyle was passionate about his family, his work and his life. Kyle was an avid outdoorsman; always looking for his next adventure outside. He loved spending time at his cabin, going fishing in Canada and skiing in Colorado. Kyle also dedicated much of his time to coaching basketball and other youth sports. To many, he was best known as Coach K.  To others, he was known as best friend.

We all benefited from Kyle’s presence in our lives. He was always positive and smiling no matter the situation. His laugh would fill the office and was contagious. We mourn his untimely death but we celebrate his life and contributions to the community.

Kyle graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1985 and William Mitchell College of Law in 1989. Kyle was a founding partner of Wilkerson, Hegna, Kavanaugh & Johnston, PLLP along with Gary Wilkerson. Gary and Kyle remained partners of the firm until 2014 when Gary retired and Chris Johnston and Morgan Kavanaugh became partners. Kyle’s legacy of hard work, advocacy and fairness will continue to live on as the guide of Wilkerson, Hegna, Kavanaugh & Johnston, PLLP for years to come.
